I have created this blog as a way to share my teaching and ideas with parents, guardians and educators about the wonderful world of Kindergarten. I am currently on a one year teaching exchange in Australia. This blog will serve as a way to share my experiences and keep in touch with my class in Toronto, Canada. Blackwood Christmas Pageant
Dear Mrs. Meredith and all the children in room three,
Today was the annual Blackwood Christmas Pageant. It is a local event in the town near the kindergarten where I am working. Many schools and local establishments walk in the parade. Some have exciting floats, some people are all dressed up, there were even dogs marching in the parade. We had all the children at kindy make some special bracelets with streamers to wear and we had a special helium balloon for everyone. All the children came dressed in Christmas colours or their favourite clothing. It was a really exciting afternoon filled with laughter, smiles and a sense of community. It was a very hot afternoon the temperature reaching close to 36 degrees. It is quite a change to see all the Christmas decorations up and people in the holiday spirit without all the snow. It was a wonderful community event as families gathered along the steets to watch people walk in the parade, cheering and wishing everyone a happy holidays. It was so lovely to be part of such a wonderful event which brings people together. I would like to share some pictures from this afternoon one of my favourite is Santa and the kangaroos and the cute dogs dressed for the holidays.
I wish all of you a very happy holiday season and I am really looking forward to seeing you all in January.
Love,
Mrs. Leventhal
